The Project
With the introduction of the new Swiss clearing system SIC4 and the SWIFT CBPR project, Swiss banks were confronted with a fundamental transformation of their payment operations.
In addition to migrating from established formats to modern ISO 20022 XML structures (MX formats), banks had to understand long-standing processes, systems, and customer-specific customizations and successfully transfer them into the new environment—without compromising the traditionally very high straight-through processing (STP) rate.
During this complex phase, several Avaloq banks chose to rely on the expertise of Asubium.
Our Contribution
Together with our clients, we conducted a detailed analysis of the existing payment processes and formats.
A particular focus was placed on the functional and technical analysis of long-established, client-specific coding in Avaloq. Step by step, we migrated this logic into the new SIC4 and SWIFT MX structures.
Thanks to our many years of experience in payment processing and Avaloq development, we were able to ensure that all changes were seamlessly integrated into the existing system landscape.
The Added Value
Through our support, the banks achieved a seamless migration to SIC4 and SWIFT CBPR without any loss in process quality.
The high STP rate was maintained, regulatory requirements were met, and clients now benefit from a modern, future-ready payment system.
As a result, payment processing — one of the core processes of every bank—was sustainably stabilized and prepared for future developments.
