The Project

To ensure a reliable data flow between Avaloq and connected third-party systems, the bank launched a project with the objective of exporting data from Avaloq via the Asubium Adapter to Kafka and distributing it from there to other target systems. In this process, the exported data had to be mapped to the specific architectures and data models of the downstream systems to enable smooth integration into the respective target applications.

The goal of the project was to establish an end-to-end data flow from Avaloq to downstream systems and to automate it as much as possible, enabling data availability in near real time.

Our Contribution

Asubium was engaged to provide a Technical Business Analyst for this initiative. In this role, Asubium supported the bank in analysing, preparing, and mapping Avaloq data to the architecture and object models of the connected third-party systems, as well as in their technical integration.

This included designing and implementing new data fields in Avaloq and making them available for export, as well as mapping both existing and new data structures to the respective target models of the third-party systems. In addition, it was ensured that the relevant processes were largely automated and that data flowed reliably between the systems in near real time. The scope of work also covered testing and bug-fixing activities to successfully complete the project and ensure a smooth go-live.

The Added Value

With the successful go-live, numerous data fields from Avaloq are now automatically transferred to various new third-party systems. Through consistent automation, it is ensured that data flows reliably between the systems in near real time. At the same time, manual activities have been fully eliminated or significantly reduced, leading to increased efficiency and a lower risk of errors.

In addition, the interface was designed to be flexible and scalable, allowing it to be easily extended with additional Avaloq data fields or integrated with further target systems. This makes the solution sustainable and provides a future-proof foundation for upcoming integration initiatives.
